Describe:
On the left page is my silk painting Artist page and on the right is my Sketch idea of what I was thinking about. The pen drawing is the first stage of Bahama wild coffee then the pictures shows the full stage. Deborah Younglao
Timeline of ProcessProcessFor this project I started with the sky. At first I went a dark blue then I realize that I wanted it more in the day. So I layered down with a light blue with a mixture of purple and pink over the mountains. The I added a tint of red symbolizing the sun coming up barely. I was mostly free styling on this work so I thought it would interesting if the mountains was a dark shade of blue with snow on the peaks. I added blue around the peaks to create shadows so it would pop out. For the hills I just adding light colors on the bottom then added darker shades on top. On the corner on the left of the picture I added yellow on top of the mountains creating a shade of green. I wanted to add something in that spot. When I was playing with the colors on a piece of paper I thought out of a fog faded color to use on the river area and use it around the back to look like the nature behind is fading in. This is a close up of the moss swampy area next to the river. This the close up of the river and the mist that surrounds it. You can see the detail scratch in marks that I made for texture and make the nature alive.

'Stream of Light' (60" x 48") Click here to view picture In this oil painting. She shows the light coming through the red canyons and trees using shadows which were a mixture blue. She also uses lines showing the paths of light. Those lines show shapes and texture of different colors. She uses thick strokes if you look closer or zoom in. You can do that on her website where your aloud that. She uses a lot of lines and layers. It gives a nice feeling during the day. Here is a interview of Erin Hanson
JourneyThis is the final work on did on my ink project. I added touch ups towards the different shades. I also added another drip on his hand and a fire on the right that's visual-able on the right from afar. The more I look at it my eyes keep looking around since there's a lot going on. That's one of the reason I called it 'Journey'. Some might say it's about education but that's just part of the journey of life. Artist Behaviors Artists develop art making skills
